Strictly Youth - Special Events
Here at First Baptist we offer an extensive list programs and special events that enhance the lives of our youth as we support their spiritual and personal growth. Below are just a few of such programs and events:
MLK Celebration
Our youth learn about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through programs they personally sponsor as well as the programs in the community and the state in which they participate.
Black History Month
Each year during Black History, we sponsor and participate in programs and events where our youth are made aware of and reminded of the contributions African-Americans have made to our society and to this world.
Easter Celebration
Easter Celebrations are an important part of our youth ministry celebrations and worship experiences. We are always early to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mission Trips
The First Baptist Youth Ministry is the model for youth ministries everywhere with well-trained youth willing to give of their time and talents to teach and work with their hands to improve the lives of other youth at home and in foreign countries. In the Summer of 2009 our youth spent more than a week ministering to youth in Jamaica and are in the process of raising funds to go to Ghana West Africa in the Summer of 2010. Mission trips, not only serve the youth in the foreign country, but First Baptist youth experience exceptional growth, both personal and spiritual.

Back-2-School Block Party
Each year the First Baptist Youth Ministry hosts a Back-2-School Block Party to prepare students within the church and community for their return to school. In addition to great entertainment and lots of fun events and activities, the students in attendance are presented with school supplies; from note pads and pencils to calculators and book bags.
Christmas Celebration
The Sunday School Department works hard each to prepare and present a Christmas program celebrating the birth of Christ and showcasing the talents of our youth.
Pre-New Years Eve Party
Our youth bring in the New Year with worship, praise in song and dance and much fun. The highlight of this event is a star-studded performance by local and nationally acclaimed young people.
