First Baptist Church's humble beginning without a doubt is a testament to Matthew 18:20, which states: "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, I will be in the midst of them." God has truly been in the midst of every avenue the establishment of First Baptist church has taken. From the few members who decided to leave Zion Hill one Sunday in 1933 to the apple tree in Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Haigler's yard in Highland Park to the abandoned gas station on Route 27… and now to a membership in excess of 5000 and to the construction of a massive new sanctuary.

We praise God for those who have lead us to where we are today, for their faithfulness and their visions, for we know that what Proverbs 29:18 says is true "Where there is no vision the people perish …"

Now may God's love, peace, joy and understanding abide with you as you search further on our website!
