"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker
who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV
The Institute for Christian
Discipleship, our church wide Bible study, is another avenue for
Christian Education. The Institute meets on Tuesday and Thursday
evenings and has classes for pre-kindergarten through adult age.
The Institute has two semesters. The Fall semester begins in October
and ends in December; the Spring semester begins in February and
ends in April. Each semester runs approximately twelve weeks. An
interim session is held in January and classes are offered at various
times between semesters.
A variety of courses are offered each semester in the core areas
of Biblical studies, theology and church history. Courses in areas
of special interest are also offered, namely: pastoral care, spiritual
disciplines, women's studies, leadership training, institutional
ministry, bereavement, etc.
Through our partnership with the Theological School of Drew University,
Madison, New Jersey, students may earn continuing education units.
Upon the completion of six continuing education courses, students
receive nine continuing education units and are awarded a Certificate
in Biblical Studies from Drew University. The cost of each continuing
education unit is $35.00 as determined by Drew University. Courses
offering continuing education units are taught by instructors who
hold the Master of Divinity Degree or a higher professional degree.
