Vacation Bible School (VBS) provides time to enjoy
Bible study during the summer when most Sunday School and Bible
study classes are in recess for summer vacation. It is generally
held the third week in July at Franklin High School and it provides
programs for all ages - nursery through adult.
Because FBC sees Vacation Bible School as a time of learning and
fun for students of all ages, the curriculum is both age and theme
appropriate.
VBS provides a nursery program for 2-year-olds, a pre-school program
for 3-4 year olds, an elementary program for 1st through 6th graders,
a junior high program for 7th and 8th graders and a senior high
program for teens in the 9th through the 12th grades.
Not being just for children, each year First Baptist is blessed
to have a tremendous turnout for the adult class, which is usually
taught by a guest speaker. For those who feel they are too old for
the teen classes and too young for the adult classes, we provide
a young adult class. Periodically, special classes are held, e.g.,
youth leadership training, discipleship training, etc.
We boast over 500 people in attendance each year with 120 of our
members volunteering to serve on one or more of the following committees:

Security Ministry provides for our security, volunteer photographers
capture moments to remember and those with the experience manage
any equipment needed on site. Oversight for all of the committees
is the responsibility of the Vacation Bible School Coordinator,
who receives advised and supported from the Director of Discipleship.
